About Us

Biomedical Research Center

The Sohail University has taken a leap forward to enrich its educational resources, by setting up Biomedical Research Center (BRC). The Center is temperature controlled research facility being established at 7th floor in Medicare Hospital. It is, divided into cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology sections. The Center is equipped with state of the art laboratory equipment and has following features:

Biomedical Research Center

  • Gene expression analysis, genotyping and rare allele detection
  • Biosafety level-2 unit supports working with cell lines, primary human cells culture and organisms/ biological samples of moderate risk.
  • Imaging facility for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence
  • Protein separation and detection facility
  • Nucleic acid separation and detection facility
  • Sophisticated equipment: Refrigerated centrifuges and CO2 Incubator
  • Basic equipment: centrifuges, water baths, hotplate, pH meters and vortexes
  • Computers with full access to the internet
  • Epoxy resin laboratory work surfaces, chemical and flame resistant secured cabinets
  • Storage facility with ULT freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks for biological samples.
  • Stored items include consumables, chemicals and reagents, and biological samples (Human samples, imported cell lines, plasmid vectors and antibodies).
  • Safe environment (Restricted access, logging and monitoring and surveillance round the clock).
  • Conference room equipped with audio visual (AV) technology.
